Repaving on busy Hilo street extended through November

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The state Department of Transportation has extended the repaving of Puainako Street in Hilo in order to ensure pedestrian access on the mauka side of the street meets safety standards.
The new completion date is tentatively set for November.
During the repaving project, a single lane on Puainako Street will be closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Motorists should take alternative routes and expect delays.
