DMP prohibits gatherings in Kakrail ahead of JP rally

Dhaka Metropolitan Police have prohibited all meetings, gatherings, processions, and demonstrations at the Jatiyo Party’s office in Kakrail and surrounding areas tomorrow, ahead of the party’s rally and the ongoing standoff between two JP and Fasibad Birodhi Chhatra Sramik Janata.
In a public notice this evening, the DMP announced that to address the recent situation and maintain public order, all meetings, gatherings, processions, and demonstrations are prohibited at House #66 on Pioneer Road (JP office) in Kakrail, and surrounding areas under the authority of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance.
Last evening, the JP central office in Kakrail was set on fire and vandalised by a group of people marching under the banner of “Anti-fascist students, workers, and masses”.
Condemning last night’s incident, its Chairman GM Quader today vowed that despite life risks, he will continue to protest against the injustice and discrimination in the country.
